Brad Marchand and Paul Bissonnette trade insults live on air.
Brad Marchand and Paul Bissonnette go toe to toe in a war of words on Sunday night.
The NHL on TNT broadcast has definitely brought a new flavor of coverage to the hockey landscape and one of the more positive aspects of their broadcast, at least from my perspective, has been the inclusion of one Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette. Bissonette's sense of humor and knowledge as a former player has shined through and that was on display again on Sunday night when Bissonnette went head to head with Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand.
Bissonnette and Marchand have made a habit of trading barbs with one another on the TNT broadcast in the past but that was when Marchand was a member of the Boston Bruins. On Sunday night however both men showed that their interpersonal rivalry wasn't going anywhere just because Marchand was now playing for a new team.
It was Bissonnette who got the war of words started off right out of the gate, immediately hitting Marchand with a chirp with his very first question.
"Brad it's Biz congrats on the move, I was just wondering between your nose and fivehead how long does it take to apply sunscreen to those areas?" asked Bissonnette eliciting laughs from both Marchand and his co-hosts.
No stranger to trash talk himself, Marchand was more than ready and immediately responded by roasting Bissonnette's new haircut.
"I was watching pregame I don't know what's going on with that bowl cut up there," fired back Marchand. "You could shave the rest of your head. Ears down is what you went in there for, that's a tough one. Tough look."
The segment would move on to more hockey related questions from there but, before the TNT crew let Marchand return to his routine, Bissonnette jumped back into the conversation to fire another hilarious question in Marchand's direction.
"Biz again here, with all the money you're saving on the no state tax paychecks any chance you pay for a new barber of mine?"
Not to be outdone, Marchand responded with some self-deprecating humor of his own.
"I thought you were coming in with the nose job"
Bissonnette fired back once again with a line that sent just about everyone into a fit of laughter.
"For me or for you?"
It would be Marchand who would close out the exchange however with perhaps the best line of the night.
"We'll do a two for one."
It was a fantastic segment fueled by two great personalities in the sport of hockey and I highly recommend you check it out in the short clip below.
