Boxer Imane Khelif sends strong message ahead of her gold medal final

What a message!

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif will probably never been done with gender questions despite the International Olympic Committee and the Algerian Olympic Committee supporting her, and even her father providing official documents to prove her gender. However, ahead of her gold medal final at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Khelif sends a strong message to anyone who dares to bully any professional athlete and calls for the end of bullying in sports.

The bullying reached a disgusting level last week when Khelif’s first opponent at Paris, Angela Carini of Italy, quit their bout after 46 seconds. She bursted into tears after abandoning the fight with a suspected broken nose and claiming that this was “not an equal competition”. The boxing match immediately went viral for terrible reasons with particular attention given to Khelif previously being banned from fighting in women’s boxing events due to failing a gender eligibility test. However, Khelif complies with all entry and medical regulations set by ruling entities. Cirani has since sent a message to Khelif apologizing for the controversy that caused a terrible immediate aftermath. The Italian boxer said:

“Actually, I want to apologize to her and everyone else. I was angry because my Olympics had gone up in smoke. I don’t have anything against Khelif. Actually, if I were to meet her again I would embrace her.”

Since the whole saga got underway, Khalif has advanced to the women’s welterweight final, securing Algeria’s first Olympic boxing medal since 2000.She is guaranteed to win either a silver or gold medal.

And Khelif has managed to send a strong message to everyone at the same time. I hope she wins the gold medal!
