It had been a decade since a Chicago Blackhawks player had filed for salary arbitration, and the player in question has gotten himself quite a handsome raise.
Philipp Kurashev, who scored a career high nine goals with 16 assists last season and is coming off his three year contract, has been awarded a new deal worth $2.55 million a season by an arbiter, a two year pact.
He was selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (120th overall) at the 2018 NHL Draft. In 191 career NHL games, he's scored 23 goals and 39 assists.
