Bad news on John Tavares and Joseph Woll on Monday morning.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were missing two key pieces of their lineup on Monday morning.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were hoping for some good news on Monday morning and instead received quite the opposite.

As the Maple Leafs hit the ice for their morning skate, two days ahead of a clash with the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, reporters in attendance were quick to spot that two key figures were notably absent from the group. Missing were both forward John Tavares and goaltender Joseph Woll, both of which are not good signs for the Leafs.

Tavares has already missed one game due to what the team has reported as an illness, with Tavares sidelined for Saturday's 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, while Woll has yet to see any action so far in the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season.

The biggest concern here is of course the absence of Joseph Woll who was expected to take on a bigger role for the Maple Leafs this season. The biggest knock against Woll has been his inability to remain healthy, and missing the first 3 games of the regular season, so far, is certainly not going to help that perception.

According to Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, Woll is dealing with "lower body tightness" but at this point I suspect that fans just want to know when Woll will be available and how long he will be able to remain healthy for.

The only silver lining here for the Maple Leafs is that there is still time before their next game on Wednesday, although there has been no indication that either man will be ready to go for that game at this time.
