It sounds like the Washington Capitals may be without one of their core forwards for an extended period of time.
On Saturday night, veteran forward T.J. Oshie appeared to suffer a lower-body injury during one of the very first shifts he took during the game. There was no contact on the play and it looked as though Oshie may have pulled or tweaked something while he was racing for the puck.
Often times these seemingly harmless incidents can result in very significant injuries, and unfortunately for Oshie and the Capitals that appears to be the case this time around.
A report from Washington Capitals insider Tarik El-Bashir on Monday morning has now confirmed that Oshie is expected to be out long term, with El-Bashir indicating that the Capitals have ruled him out "indefinitely."
Through 9 games prior to being injured, Oshie had 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points on the season so far.
