The Boston Bruins will be severely depleted on Sunday when they take on a tough opponent in the playoff bound Carolina Hurricanes.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has confirmed that the Bruins will be without 2 of their top forwards and one of their top defenseman on Sunday, with captain Patrice Bergeron, forward Brad Marchand and defenseman Hampus Lindholm all knocked out of action for various reasons.

In the case of Bergeron, it would appear that the captain of the Bruins has come down with some type of illness and hopefully that means we can expect him back in the lineup shortly.

Lindholm and Marchand on the other hand are currently dealing with injuries, and in both cases it sounds like it is something the players have been dealing with for some time now. No word on when either man will return to the lineup, but once again hopefully this will prove to only be short term.

Stepping into the lineup today to replace the downed Bruins will be A.J. Greer, Jakub Zboril, and Oskar Steen who has been called up on an emergency basis.
