Artemi Panarin is the one who netted the Game 7 overtime goal to pass over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round and reach the Carolina Hurricanes for the next step.

The Canes however are the ones who completed a comeback in Game 1 and won in overtime to take the series lead. With Game 2 coming up in a few hours, Panarin met with reporters and didn’t go softly on himself and his play ahead of the contest.

When the cameras were off, Panarin was caught by reporters present saying why he has to play with less risk in the playoffs and how that might take him out of what he does best. He is forced to be conservative and it does not sound like he's a fan...

“I would love to do some stupid shit at the blue line. But I can’t,” Panarin said on adjusting his style for the playoffs.

The Rangers lost Game One as their offense struggled: they scored just the one goal in the game and failed to find the back of the net after the first period.

Fortunately for Panarin and the rest of the Blue Shirts, the defense stepped up and Igor Shesterkin stood on his head, allowing only one goal in regulation and holding the Hurricanes offense down for the first 57 minutes of Game One.

It’s always fun to see a player like Panarin take some risk on the ice to make some incredible move, however, the Canes will jump on him and force him to make a mistake if he gets too risky…

There is no doubt that he needs to adjust his style of play if he wants his Rangers to come out on top in this series… But we can understand that for a player like Panarin, it is not easy to do…
