Arber Xhekaj lays the smackdown on Pat Maroon.
The Canadiens rookie continues to shine.
The Montreal Canadiens may not have come into this season expecting to be Stanley Cup contenders, but a combination of the team's new organizational structure, development staff, coaching staff, and players have all combined to still put an entertaining product out on the ice.
One of the big contributors to that entertaining product has been Canadiens rookie Arber Xhekaj, who surprised many coming into the season and has consistently continued to deliver surprises as the season has wore on.
He did so again on Saturday night when he took on one of the league's tougher customers in veteran Tampa Bay Lightning enforcer Pat Maroon. Xhekaj dominated Maroon in what you would have otherwise expected to be a competitive fight, clearly frustrating the veteran during the fight by letting him get very little offense in.
Xhekaj on the other hand delivered blow after blow to Maroon with the Lightning forward seemingly having no answer.
