Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty visibly upset when asked about Jonathan Quick trade
Emotional to watch.

It’s been a hectic week for goalie Jonathan Quick, who was first traded by the Los Angeles Kings as part of a package for Vladislav Gavrikov and Joonas Korpisalo. The Blue Jackets flipped him again on Thursday, sending him to the Vegas Golden Knights for prime playoff seeding in exchange for goaltender Michael Hutchison and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
While this second trade probably pleased Quick, the first one reportedly made him very upset as the veteran netminder always imagined ending his career in Los Angeles.
Emotions were still high on Thursday when defenseman Drew Doughty and forward Anze Kopitar reacted to the trade of their close friend and goalie. The latter was especially emotional when listening to Doughty talking about the trade, how unexpected it was and how much it still sucks. Both players obviously lost a close friend, though Doughty remained adamant that they will remain friends forever.
In Vegas, Quick will see several familiar faces in Vegas, including former Kings teammates Alec Martinez, Brayden McNabb and Michael Amadio.
However, we bet he will miss Kopitar, Doughty and the others just as much as he is missing by them in the Kings’ dressing room.
Los Angeles will face the Golden Knights, and possibly Quick in net, in just over a month. The Kings have one game left this season against the Golden Knights, on April 6 at Vegas.
