Another blow to Daniel Sprong who was traded for nothing by Vancouver!
Tough season for the winger... More on the story below:
Back in November, the Vancouver Canucks made the curious move of trading forward Daniel Sprong to the Seattle Kraken for nothing. Well, you know, the classic promise of future considerations. Fans were stunned by return at all did, which seemed less than ideal.
With the Cancuks, Sprong had struggles, appearing in 9 games and scoring 1 goal while adding 2 assists for a total of 3 points, and then in Seattle, he’s posted a goal and an assits in 10 contests.
On Wednesday, Sprong got another blow when the Kraken placed him on waivers.
When the Kraken acquired him, there was a feeling that they really wanted Sprong. Elliotte Friedman had explained the transaction at the time, saying that Vancouver could have placed Sprong on waivers themselves back in November, and “there are only six teams ahead of the Kraken in priority”, proving how badly Seattle wanted to land and probably made arrangements with the Canucks to make sure they could get Sprong.
10 games later, it’s a different story…
The intent is to assign him to AHL Coachella Valley, however, Sprong could get picked up by another team ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
In other waivers news, Dylan Ferguson, who signed yesterday with the Minnesota Wild, has cleared the wire.
