Alexandar Georgiev calls out 'dirty' Jordan Binnington.

St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington has made quite a habit of getting physically involved during games throughout his career in the National Hockey League, but it really does seem like Binnington has taken that to another level this season.

Binnington has rubbed several fan bases the wrong way this season for this very reason, producing some highlights in the process including this attempted hit on Jordan Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Perhaps his most infamous moment of the season though was this glove slap/punch to the face of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jason Zucker earlier in the season.

On Saturday, Binnington once again got involved during a scrum but this time things were a little different. Sitting across the ice in between the pipes for the Colorado Avalanche was Avs goaltender Alexandar Georgiev, and it seems that Georgiev has seen enough of Binnington's antics.

Not only did Georgiev skate out to center ice in an effort to challenge the volatile Binnington, but following the game he called him out for playing the tough guy while knowing full well that he will be protected as a goaltender.

“I think it’s a little dirty of their goalie knowing you’re untouchable," said Georgiev of Binnington following the game.

When asked about whether or not his decision to skate out to center ice was in fact a challenge to Binnington, Georgiev only smiled and said he would just “maybe talk to him.”

Although we didn't get the showdown on at center ice on Saturday, these two teams will meet again in a few weeks during an afternoon game on February the 18th. If the hot-headed Binnington gets wind of these comments we may get to see that showdown revisited in the near future.
