Alex Ovechkin seen training with his son Ovi Jr.
We might have another Ovi on our hands before too long!
He'll go down as one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history, and certainly the best scorer post-2005 lockout.
Washington Capitals superstar forward and captain Alex Ovechkin made hockey history last season, scoring his 767th career goal and passing Jaromir Jagr for 3rd all-time in NHL goals scored. He's also now the highest scoring European NHL player of all time.
And it looks as though we could soon have another superstar bearing Ovechkin's name in a few years. A video was posted to Instagram depicting the Great 8 and his young son Sergei, aka Ovi Jr., engaging in some offseason training. Just check out the little man's wicked slapper:
If anyone can realistically challenge Wayne Gretzky's mark of 892 career goals, it will certainly be the Great 8.
