The Detroit Red Wings earned themselves a valuable two points in last night's victory at Bell Centre over the Montreal Canadiens, and it was during the contest that Alex DeBrincat scored the 200th goal of his NHL career.
And fittingly, it came right as new Red Wings forward Patrick Kane was speaking on the Red Wings broadcast alongside Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond.
DeBrincat and Kane were teammates with the Chicago Blackhawks, and their chemistry on the ice was a thing of wonder. In total, Kane dished out 72 assists on DeBrincat goals with the Blackhawks, and he's once again on the same team.
“Alex was definitely one of them,” Kane said when asked for reasons why he chose to join Detroit. “The chemistry we had on the ice the last couple years in Chicago. He’s become one of my better friends around the league off the ice as well. We both love the game. We want to do as best as we can every time we’re on the ice.”
Right now, Kane is on track to make his Red Wings debut sometime this coming week.
