The Boston Bruins are simply unstoppable on the ice right now, having stormed out of the gate in the 2022-23 NHL season with an astounding 14-2 record. This is especially noteworthy, considering that most fans and pundits had expected the Bruins to take a step backwards in the standings.
Of course, the Bruins have also been in the news in recent weeks for their controversial decision to ink former Arizona Coyotes draft pick Mitchell Miller, a saga that completely blew up in their faces and resulted in their parting ways with him following considerable backlash.
Forward AJ Greer has now found himself in the news for exposing a homophobic message he received from a fan on Instagram:
Greer appears to be following in the footsteps of captain Patrice Bergeron, who was one of the leading voices of opposition to his team signing Miller.
“To stay true to my values, really. What it comes down to and what is important is to stand up for what you think is wrong,” Bergeron said. “That situation, it goes back to what we’ve built here as an organization, as a team, as a locker room. That is to be inclusive and a locker room of respect and integrity.”
