A bad start to the season has put the Calgary Flames in a tough spot and rival teams are looking to take advantage.

On Friday night, Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov put his team in a tough predicament when he demanded a trade out of Calgary. This was done in very public fashion with Zadorov's agent, Dan Milstein, even going so far as to suggest that Zadorov is the best defenseman on the team and isn't being treated accordingly.

Now, a National Hockey League insider is reporting that at least 3 teams have quickly expressed strong interest in the veteran defenseman, with those teams no doubt looking to take advantage of a less than ideal situation for the Flames. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils are all in the mix here:

Tor, Van, and NJD are the clubs with strong interest in Zadorov. Tanev, solid right shot Dman is a huge draw and, of course, Hanifin. The Flames are in no hurry to sell assets. If a team steps up in a big way, everything has to be considered. I’m not sensing urgency from Cgy.

The Flames may not be in a hurry to unload their entire team, but it seems almost inevitable at this point that we will see some changes made.
