Young Oilers fan exposes Evander Kane's true colors.

Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane hasn't always had the best reputation around the National Hockey League, but he is certainly working hard to repair that.

Since joining the ranks of the Oilers there has been a clear shift in Kane's public persona, one that is much more mature and thoughtful when it comes to just about every aspect of his life. That shift has been noticed by those who have followed Kane closely throughout his career and it can be seen in his interactions with the media, but where it really shines through is in the good work that Kane has been doing off the ice.

Kane appears to have truly embraced his role as an ambassador for the Oilers and last week we were provided another example of that when Kane's true colors were once again exposed by a young fan. This was no ordinary fan but instead was Cecily Eklund, also known as Simply Cecily on social media, a name that may be very familiar to Oilers fans.

Cecily Eklund is a brain cancer survivor and she made headlines earlier this year when it was revealed that she had helped raise over $86,000 for the Ben Stelter fund, a cause that is near and dear to the hearts of many Oilers fans.

Last week the Oilers and Evander Kane were able to give something back to Cecily and, although neither the Oilers or Kane himself made a big show of it, Cecily could not help but share pictures of the wonderful experience she had on social media.

Kane took her to her first ever Edmonton Elks game, and the pair appeared to have a wonderful time with big smiles all around.

She had the chance to show Kane off to some of her friends, including fellow brain cancer survivors.

Kane even took her for a ride in his sports car, and according to Cecily he was even brave enough to let her get behind the wheel for a period of time.

Kane did very briefly make note of the whole event on his own social media but it was clear that he wasn't seeking any recognition at all for his good deed, and even went out of his way to credit the sponsors of the event for making it all possible.
