Very serious looking injury at Senators practice, Monday.
What appears to be terrible news for the Senators after a very serious looking injury during practice on Monday.
Just when things were starting to look up for the Ottawa Senators, the team has been hit with a barrage of bad news over the course of the last 24 hours or so.
It began with an update regarding the status of star goaltender Linus Ullmark on Sunday, one that confirmed Ullmark is going to be out for a while, and now one of the organization's important young defensemen has gone done during what should have been a routine practice.
On Monday morning, former Senators first round pick Jacob Bernard-Docker went down, crashed hard into the boards, and appeared to suffer a very serious looking injury in the proces. Bernard-Docker's agony could be heard in the building and he seemed entirely unable to get up under his own power, never a good sign when you consider just how tough hockey players tend to be.
Not only was Bernard-Docker screaming in agony, but when his teammates and members of the Senators staff rushed in to help him you could visibly see the pain etched on his face as well. Even with the help of his teammates it looked like Bernard-Docker continued to be in serious pain the entire time, again a sign that something is very wrong with the 24 year old defenseman.
Bernard-Docker was eventually led off the ice with help from a pair of teammates and it became clear that his left leg was the source of the injury. Bernard-Docker was entirely unable to put any weight down on the leg and looked to be in excruciating pain judging by his body language and facial expressions as he was helped back to the locker room.
Here's a look at the video of the aftermath of the incident:
Hopefully Bernard-Docker is going to be ok, but this obviously does not look good at all.
