Unexpected revelation about “cheating in the Connor Bedard lottery” made by Elliotte Friedman!
I don’t know how to react to this:
HockeyFeed
The NHL held its annual Draft Lottery on Monday evening, revealing who will have the opportunity to draft young phenom Connor Bedard first overall at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft in June. The Chicago Blackhawks won the lottery, in every sense of the word, and will get to build around probably the best generational player of our time.
However when the Hawks were announced as winners, it was followed by more criticism than celebrations. While some fans claimed that Chicago should not have the right to win the first overall pick, after what happened with its handling of former player Kyle Beach’s sexual assault accusations against a former team coach.
But many have outright claimed that everything was rigged by the NHL.
This prompted insider Elliotte Friedman to comment on the conspiracy theory and it led to a stunning revelation on the 32 Thoughts podcast, as Friedman claims that high executives in the league believe the lottery for Bedard was rigged as well.
Friedman explained how he was shocked to see how many people around the league that he considers smart thought the draft lottery was rigged. He stated that it is understandable to hear that comment from fans who get emotional, but people from the league, from teams and such thought it was rigged.
Friedman dded that he does not believe for a second it was rigged, but still can’t believe that some important people in the NHL are also on board with the conspiracy theory.
Can you imagine if some general managers are part of these people?
I was not expecting this from people who make like 10 times my salary…
