The Vancouver Canucks were already dealing with some significant injuries coming into Friday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers and this is just about the last thing that they would have wanted to see.

The game was barely even underway when Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers suffered what looked like a devastating injury, one that left Myers writhing in pain on the ice. The play in question didn't look like much, with Myers attempting to lay a hit on Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee, but it was enough to send Myers, who is a very large man, crashing down to the ice.

When Myers attempted to deliver the hit, his knee would collide awkwardly with Farabee's backside causing it to twist at an uncomfortable looking angle. Myers immediately collapsed to the ice in the fetal position following the impact, an immediate sign that things were not ok.

Myers could be seen writhing in pain on the ice as both trainers and teammates came to check on him, another indication that this appears to be a significant injury.

Perhaps the clearest sign that Myers suffered a serious knee injury however was the fact that the big Canucks defenseman was entirely unable to put any weight on his right leg following the collision with Farabee. Instead Myers had to be helped off the ice by teammates J.T. Miller and Derek Forbort, all the while making sure not to put any pressure at all on his right leg.

There has been no official update on his status as of yet but, judging purely off of Myers body language following the incident, things certainly do not look good.
