Tyler Myers also facing suspension from NHL Player Safety.

A second player from last night's Canucks/Oilers matchup is facing a suspension.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety is going to be busy over the weekend thanks to the Saturday night clash between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.

I've already brought you news today that Oilers captain Connor McDavid is facing a potential suspension for the cross-check that he delivered to the head of Canucks forward Conor Garland, and now we have a second potential suspension announced from that very same game.

According to an official announcement from Player Safety, Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers will also face a hearing for his actions in the final seconds of last night's game, specifically for a cross-check that he delivered to the head of Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard.

The news will come as no surprise to anyone who watched the game as both incidents occurred at almost the exact same time and were eerily similar, with both men facing a suspension for a cross-check to the head.

I do have to wonder however if Myers may face a stiffer suspension here due to the fact that his cross-check was unprovoked, unlike in the case of McDavid who had been mauled by Garland for several seconds before losing his cool, and it came after McDavid's cross-check to Garland which could make Myers' cross-check to Bouchard look like retaliation in the eyes of the league.

Here is a look at a replay of Myers delivering the cross-check right into Bouchard's face.

I am certain that if the league does choose to punish Myers more severely it will go over extremely poorly with fans in Vancouver, so I am eagerly awaiting the league's announcement in regards to both of these hearings this week to see how they will rule on these two cases.
