The top 10 worst NHL goalies this season... so far.

A look at the 10 goaltenders who have struggled the most out of the gate this season.

Jonathan Larivee

The National Hockey League season is officially underway and, with each team around the league having a few games under their belts, that means it's time to massively over react to a small sample size of data.

If you've already got your pitchforks in hand I've got something on the menu for you today, a look at the top 10 worst goaltenders in the NHL this season... so far. To determine our top 10 I'll be using the goals saved above expected provided by the good people over at Money Puck, and unfortunately for some of these goalies things are not pretty.

First let's take a look at the complete list:

#1 Alexandar Georgiev (Colorado Avalanche) -9.9 goals saved above expected.
#2 Stuart Skinner (Edmonton Oilers) -3.9 goals saved above expected.
#3 Ivan Fedotov (Philadelphia Flyers) -3.9 goals saved above expected.
#4 Elvis Merzlinkins (Columbus Blue Jackets) -3.6 goals saved above expected.
#5 Arturs Silovs (Vancouver Canucks) -3.5 goals saved above expected.
#6 Devon Levi (Buffalo Sabres) -3.3 goals saved above expected.
#7 Juuse Saros (Nashville Predators) -3.2 goals saved above expected.
#8 Connor Ingram (Utah Hockey Club) -3.1 goals saved above expected.
#9 Cayden Primeau (Montreal Canadiens) -2.8 goals saved above expected.
#10 Ville Husso (Detroit Red Wings) -2.8 goals saved above expected.

To be fair to some of the goaltenders on this list, a number of teams have multiple goaltenders within the top 20 which suggests that there may be more of a team-wide issue contributing to their relatively poor numbers. The teams that have multiple goaltenders in the top 20 are the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, Nashville Predators, and Ottawa Senators.
