Noah Corson, the 24 year old son of former NHLer Shayne Corson, has been charged with "sexually assaulting a woman who was under the age of 16" stemming from allegations during his time in the QMJHL.

From TSN investigative reporter Rick Westhead:

Interesting choice of words there...

Personally I don't know any "women under the age of 16". To me, and by the letter of the law, that's a child and not a woman. But, I digress...

In any case, Corson has been charged with a pretty serious crime and has been dropped by the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder and AHL's Utica Comets.

Westhead reports that the assault took place in Drummondville, Quebec during Corson's time with the Drummondville Voltigeurs during the 206-17 QMJHL season and that all parties were under the age of 18. Corson has been implicated in the alleged crime along with two as of yet unnamed teammates, both of whom have pleaded guilty. Corson has not yet entered a plea. It's not clear what, if any, punishment the two other individuals have faced as the courts do no release information on underage offenders.

Details of the alleged assault, as reported by Westhead on TSN:

Radio Canada reported that the alleged victim did not know Corson nor the other Voltigeurs player before meeting them on the evening of the alleged assault. She had been dating a third young man for a few weeks, Radio Canada reported.

After spending part of the evening in a restaurant, the woman and three men moved to the alleged victim's home where she was allegedly sexually assaulted while one of the defendants recorded a video using his cellphone, Radio Canada reported, adding that the woman later recognized the hockey players when she attended a Voltigeurs game and saw photos of the players on the arena wall.

Corson recently signed an AHL contract with Utica, but was not drafted into the NHL following his junior career and has mostly split his pro career between the ECHL and the SPHL.
