Blunt words from the Leafs head coach.

While the Toronto Maple Leafs appeared to have everything in hand during last night's game at Scotiabank Arena against the visiting division rival Buffalo Sabres, it was a terrible second period that proved to be their undoing in what was ultimately a 4-3 loss.
The Leafs were outshot by a 17-3 margin and largely hung goaltender Matt Murray out to dry, drawing the ire of head coach Sheldon Keefe in his postgame comments afterward. He kept things blunt, saying it was perhaps their worst period of the season.
"I thought we played better in the third," he said. "Our second period was our worst period by far — maybe of the season, to be honest."
Meanwhile, take a look at what Keefe had to say about Murray's performance, saying that while the numbers don't look good, he believes that the veteran has played well.
"I think he has been great," Keefe said. "I know the numbers look terrible. Again here tonight, I thought he was really good. There were four tap-ins. They are three feet or less in front of the crease."
"The pass out on the winning goal from below the goal line is about as dangerous of a pass as you can give up in the NHL. You cannot allow that to happen. That is very poor penalty killing by us."
Since his return from LTIR, Murray has gone 1-2-0 with an. 848 save percentage.
