Earllier today San Jose Sharks rookie GM Mike Grier made sweeping changes to the team's executive staff, effectively changing personnel in five prominent positions.

The hirings are as follows:

Scott Fitzgerald; Director of Player Personnel
Tom Holy; Assistant General Manager
Todd Marchant; Director of Player Development, Senior Advisor
Chris Morehouse; Director of Amateur Scouting
Ryan Stewart; Pro Personnel, Senior Advisor

Fitzgerald was hired away from the Boston Bruins where he worked as a scout for 16 seasons. His brother Tom Fitzgerald is the GM of the New Jersey Devils. Marchant was hired away from the Anaheim Ducks where he had worked for 11 seasons in a similar role. He, of course, is a former teammate of Grier from their time with the Edmonton Oilers. Morehouse was hired away from the New York Rangers where he served as the team's Director of North American scouting. And finally, Stewart has been hired away from the Chicago Blackhawks where he served as an assistant GM.

Needless to say these are huge changes to the organization as Grier has effectively removed any of the team's previous management staff.
