The Montreal Canadiens’ farm club, the Laval Rocket, were hosting the Utica Comets on Friday, but things turned ugly at the end of the third period when Filip Engaras had to be stretchered off the ice.

The Comets forward was chasing Zack Hayes, who made some light contact with his opponent and it ended in a brutal collision with the boards. Engaras went flying and violently collided into the boards and appeared to lose consciousness on impact.

While his teammates rushed to his defense, they quickly realize how severe the impact had been and paramedics headed on the ice with the stretcher to get Engaras some help.

Here are some videos of the scary scene in Laval, thanks to RDS:

At the end of the game, which was won by Laval by the final score of 4-3, the Comets offered some information on Engaras’ condition.

“Fillip Engaras took a hard fall into the corner and was taken off the ice by paramedics. Our thoughts are with him, and we will update with any information as it becomes available."

Let’s hope he recovers from the collision and that we get a positive update on Engaras.
