The Canadian actor appears to be serious.

Fans who were thrilled at the prospect of Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, known for his roles in films such as Deadpool, Green Lantern, and Van Wilder, potentially purchasing the Ottawa Senators may be happy about this latest update.

According to the latest from Ottawa Senators insider Bruce Garrioch, sources are indicating that Reynolds has been aggressive in his pursuit of the Ottawa Senators since he made his interest in the team known publicly. Reynolds has reportedly been speaking to other interested parties as he seeks to form a partnership that will allow him to become an owner of a National Hockey League franchise.

Interestingly enough it seems as though Reynolds has already been establishing connections within the league itself. Reynolds reportedly had a meeting with league commissioner Gary Bettman to express his genuine interest in owning the Senators and unsurprisingly, according to Garrioch, the league itself is also very open to the prospect of having Reynolds as an owner.

Reynolds received a very warm welcome in Ottawa after his interest in purchasing the team was made public, so it stands to reason that a good portion of the Senators' fan base would also love to see him take over as an owner of their franchise.

The aggressiveness from Reynolds in finding a partner comes at a time when bidding for the franchise is expected to get serious. Serious bidders are expected to have roughly a month to do their due diligence on the team's financials beginning on December 1st, with bidding on the team itself expected to begin on New Year's day.

If everything goes smooth and according to plan, we could very well know whether or not Reynolds will become an owner of the Ottawa Senators before the end of January.
