When the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday, enforcer Ryan Reaves got into heated exchanges with opposing forward Corey Perry. Both veterans were chirping back and forth, with Reaves jawing at Perry:
“Why do you think I give a f—k what you say? Huh? What, what are you gonna do about it?”
On Wednesday, the Maple Leafs’ forward was asked by Luke Fox about what he makes of Perry and he made sure to take another shot at Perry with his explanation:
“I never really liked him, to be honest. We always seem to run into each other and we play against each other, but not a lot of love for that guy… Just the way he runs his mouth, I don’t know. He kind of acts tough. He’s not tough.”
Perry was ultimately the one who got the last laugh as the Blackhawks claimed a 4-1 victory at Scotiabank Arena, handing the Maple Leafs their first loss of the 2023-24 season.
Reaves might have been still frustrated by the result when he took another shot at Perry and we will see the impact this will have on the next meeting between both team when the Maple Leafs will play the Blackhawks in Chicago on November 24.
