Ryan Reaves drops the gloves with former teammate Marcus Foligno.

Ryan Reaves takes on his former Minnesota Wild teammate in Marcus Foligno on Saturday night.

Earlier in the day Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves revealed that he plays even harder against his friends, and on Saturday night he backed up those words.

It took very little time for Reaves to make his presence known against his former team, the Minnesota Wild, and unfortunately for the Wild they would have likely prefered the big man remain quiet on the night. After back to back big hits from Reaves during a single shift the Leafs enforcer was challenged by former teammate Marcus Foligno, a challenge that Reaves readily accepted.

Both men were wary of one another with both of them showing a clear respect for the danger that the other presented, but in spite of that they both threw some heavy shots at each other during the exchange. Most of those heavy shots either failed to connect or glanced of the side of their helmets, with neither man taking too much damage during the exchange before the National Hockey League's on-ice officials stepped between them to separate the two men.
