Ryan O’Reilly reveals potential future career path for Luke Schenn

He seems like an ideal fit!

The Nashville Predators were among the busiest clubs upon the start of the National Hockey League free agency period, bringing in a haul of players led by future Hall of Famer Steven Stamkos. They also signed 2023 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Marchessault, while also bringing in steady blue liner Brady Skjei.

With the recent contract extension for goaltender Juuse Saros combined with their handful of new players, the Predators intend on announcing themselves to the rest of the NHL as serious contenders in the Western Conference. But one player on the Predators roster apparently has some connections and was able to break the news to teammate Ryan O'Reilly before the signing became public.

As O'Reilly puts it, defenseman Luke Schenn gave him the heads up about Nashville landing Stamkos:

"I got a text from him (Schenn) just before it was announced that Stamkos was coming here" O'Reilly said in an interview with TSN. "I knew we were in the mix for him but I didn't want to get my hopes up and sure enough we get him and it's just amazing".

"He's known as 'Scoops' and hears about everything before it happens," O'Reilly continued.

With his connections, it looks like Schenn could have a career as a noted hockey insider after he makes the decision to hang up his skates!
