Robin Lehner threatens NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
Robin Lehner threatens NHL commissioner Gary Bettman in latest social media outburst.
Things appear to have taken a very dark turn for National Hockey League goaltender Robin Lehner in recent weeks, with Lehner making a series of posts on social media that have left his fans very concerned for his well being.
It began last week when Lehner took to social media platform X and detailed the many problems he has been facing off the ice in recent years in a series of longform posts on social media. Lehner expressed several concerns about the things happening in his life but now, roughly one week later, things have taken a darker turn with Lehner issuing what appear to be a number of threats through that same social media platform.
On Friday night, Lehner made another series of posts in which he expressed his concerns about his life off the ice and one of those included what appeared to be a threat directed at NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
"How come hockey never been in the news for drugs and criminal activity," wrote Lehner in part of a lengthy rant. "Nah we just the white league that are better and behave better then all other sports. Gary get ready. What I’m coming with after you had a jolly good time the reality you will have fun suppress. But your watch dogs won’t win me and if they do tell them to come well prepared."
Making matters worse is that the message was accompanied by a disturbing image of Lehner with what appear to be tattoos or markings all over his face.

As part of his latest outburst on social media, Lehner also posted a long list of all the medications he was prescribed for a variety of health issues, many of which appear to have been prescribed to him for mental health reasons. It was a truly extensive list with a total of 17 different items on the list.
Lehner would go on to directly imply that all of these were prescribed to him as part of a coordinated effort from the NHL to make him "shut up" suggesting that it would also result in him having medical issues.
"The nhl when they want you to shut up," said Lehner when asked who had put him on so much medication. "Did I mention that had to take me to the emergency room for collapsing many times. They didn’t check my blood pressure for a week until they came there and it’s a on record."
The images and messages published by Lehner in the late hours of Friday night and early hours of Saturday morning are truly disturbing and include a great many unsubstantiated accusations directed towards the NHL, Gary Bettman and other parties as well. Lehner claims that he has "receipts" for all of his statements and has even mentioned the 27th of December as a date in which he will begin to share more information on social media about what he has gone through.
"Even the scum doing this … their kids are not at fault," said Lehner. "Have a good time with them then after that I’ll fuck you like you fucked my kids. Happy holidays. Last tweet until the 27th."
It is hard to distinguish how much of this is genuine and how much of it stems directly from Lehner's well documented mental health issues, but the one thing that is certain is that there seems to be a great deal of concern for Lehner's well being moving forward.
I sincerely hope he can find the help that he needs as well as a resolution to the myriad problems he has described through his outbursts on social media in recent weeks.
