Referee Wes McCauley goes viral yet again after his call on arena microphone

It's a special occasion when we get a viral moment from NHL referee Wes McCauley. It's even more special when it's the first of the season.

Normally, NHL referees aren't keen on the spotlight but McCauley seems to relish the attention.

This evening, after Nashville Predators defenseman Luke Schenn and Boston Bruins forward Mark Kastelic chucked the knuckles, McCauley hit the crowd with his patented line:

"Five minutes each for FIGHTING!"

It's rare that we get to see a true heavyweight bout in the NHL these days.

It used to be that every NHL team had a heavyweight enforcer and it wasn't uncommon to see multiple big tilts in an evening. Now, we're lucky to see the big boys go toe to toe just a few times a season.

Well, this evening Nic Deslaurier and Dylan McIlrath served up a good old fashioned heavyweight tilt, as the two big men lined up for an old school scrap.
