Red Wings suffer a serious looking injury in preseason.
The Detroit Red Wings had a scrimmage on Sunday and unfortunately it seems to have resulted in a serious injury.
The Detroit Red Wings are off to a rough start in the preseason.
On Sunday, during an early intrateam scrimmage game, forward Matt Luff appears to have suffered a serious injury. Luff went crashing hard into the boards and although it is too early to report what exactly has happened to the 26 year old veteran forward, it does appear as though his arm and/or shoulder took the brunt of that impact.
Luff had to be helped off the ice, which is never a good sign.
We will have to wait until the conclusion of that scrimmage to get an official update, but it may be a while before we hear anything conclusive given that this has just occurred.
Luff is coming off his first season with the Red Wings, last season he appeared in 10 games and had 2 goals and 2 assists for a total of 4 points on the season.
