The Detroit Red Wings are getting some absolutely incredible production out of newcomer Alex DeBrincat, whom they acquired from the division rival Ottawa Senators over the summer and immediately decided to pair with fellow Michigan native Dylan Larkin on the top line.

What has followed has been nothing but a sunburn hazard to the back of opposition goaltenders necks. Larkin and DeBrincat are second and third overall, respectively, in total points with 14 and 13. Additionally, DeBrincat currently leads The NHL in total goals scored with nine, two ahead of Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart.

And that's not all. Thanks to their offensive outbursts, DeBrincat and Larkin have set a Red Wings team record that hasn't been accomplished since the end of World War 2. Their combined point total of 27 is the most by a Red Wings duo in team history since the 1944-45 season.

“His hockey sense is off the charts. Everyone knows he can score, but how he finds space and pockets it honestly took a little bit to get used to,” Larkin said Sunday of DeBrincat.

“I’ve haven’t played with a player who is looking in spots not many can find. I’ve tried to really keep my eyes open for him when I have the puck, but also when he has the puck I’m trying to get open as well,” Larkin continued.
