Don't mess with a classic look!

According to a report from NHL jersey and logo aficionado Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net, the Detroit Red Wings are making a minor change to their jerseys this upcoming season, moving the captains "A"'s and "C" from the right side of the jersey to the more traditional left side.
From Creamer:
The Wings have had the "A" and the "C" on the right side of the jersey for awhile now as their traditional "winged-wheel" logo rises higher on the left side of the chest than other NHL team logos.
Here's a look at captain Dylan Larkin wearing the "C" on the right hand side:
And just to prove that this isn't a new phenomenon here's Nicklas Lidstrom sporting the same setup:
It hasn't been confirmed yet for the reasoning behind moving the letters back to the left hand side, but I'd imagine that the team has either shrunken their main logo or have simply moved it further down the chest, like it was prior to the mid 2000s.
Here's a look at Steve Yzerman sporting the "C" on the left hand side:
I don't expect a formal announcement from the team on this change, but it's probably worth holding onto any old Lidstrom, Zetterberg or Larkin jerseys with the "C" on the right hand side... they could become more and more rare as the years wear on.
Truthfully though, I'm just happy that this is the only change we're seeing to the Red Wings' uniform for this upcoming season. With more and more teams embracing advertising logos on their jerseys, it's encouraging to see the Red Wings buck the trend. To me, the Red Wings have a near perfect logo and jersey and I'd hate to see them ruin it by messing with things. Some things are are just perfect the way they are and don't need to be messed with.
To go off on a further tangent, I've always been on the belief that Team Canada should model their uniform after the Red Wings. Pure white, pure red, nothing else. Who thought it was a good idea to add black to Canada's uniform? Red and White! That's Canada!
