Red Wings' Jake Walman is “pissed off”
Detroit lost their third straight on Tuesday night.

The Detroit Red Wings are mired in what has been a frustrating losing skid, having dropped their past three games against opponents who are on the outside looking in at the current postseason standings. The latest setback came in the form of being unable to hold a 3-1 third period lead against the basement dwelling Arizona Coyotes, dropping a 4-3 decision in the overtime shootout.
It certainly is frustrating to be giving points away, especially against teams Detroit should be beating like Columbus and Arizona. And for defenseman Jake Walman, he's not happy about the results of the last several games.
"It’s tough," Walman said. "I’m pissed off, a lot of guys are pissed off. We have to close those games out. Some of those goals would go in in a different game. We just have to bear down and finish those games."
"It’s a tough one," Dylan Larkin said. "We were up, and we should have won that game 5-1. We outplayed them. It’s just being hungry around the net and some of it is luck and some of it is just bearing down. Guys want to score. There’s ways to do it when it’s not going in, and that’s getting around the blue paint, being hard, getting your nose over the puck."
Head coach Derek Lalonde, on the other hand, believes that the trip can still be a success depending on their result tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights in Sin City.
"We always want as many points as games on a road trip," Lalonde said. "Three-game road trip, it's still right there for us to get three points in three games. We have to stay at it."
"The will and effort is there, but we still have to manage," he continued. "Not saying we have to be perfect, but we almost have to be perfect to win some of these nights."
The Red Wings take on the Golden Knights tonight at 10:00 PM EST.
