The Detroit Red Wings lost more than just on the scoreboard last night at Little Caesars Arena at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes. Captain Dylan Larkin blocked a shot and did not return to action, and was declared to be "unavailable" for tonight's game against the Minnesota Wild.
Needless to say, this is worrisome news for Red Wings fans, who have already seen gritty goal scoring forward Tyler Bertuzzi break both of his hands this season after having blocked a shot.
In the meantime, the Red Wings will be welcoming the return of towering rookie forward Elmer Soderblom, who has been absent since early November after he himself was injured while - you guessed it - blocking a shot.
The Red Wings take on the Wild at XCel Energy Center tonight starting at 7:30 PM EST.
