The National Hockey League may have been hoping that a pair of suspensions to Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse and Las Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo would calm down the series between these two teams, but based on comments made today by Pietrangelo I don't see that happening anytime soon.

On Saturday, Pietrangelo addressed the media following his one game suspension for a nasty slash he delivered to Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl and it was during that appearance that he called out what he perceives as dirty play from the Oilers. Pietrangelo specifically referenced what he believes to be 'premeditated' attacks against him, quite a serious accusation to make.

"It's pretty obvious what's going on," said Pietrangelo on Saturday. "Some premeditated stuff coming at me I'm pretty sure."

Pietrangelo was asked if he mentioned these incidents during his suspension hearing, but according to him the league's Department of Player Safety was largely indifferent to his complaints.

"They didn't really seem to care in the meeting," admitted Pietrangelo. "But I'll get up and I'll take it... I'll get up and play the game the way it needs to be played."

"Like I said it's pretty obvious what's going on," he added.

There has been plenty of ugliness from both teams in this series and no doubt that trend will continue as we head into Game 6.
