Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic scores epic goalie goal!
GOALIE GOAL! GOALIE GOAL! GOALIE GOAL! 🚨
Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic got the starting nod on the road against the Sabres on Friday and made the most of it.
His teammates made sure to comeback into the game when the Sabres ended the first period with a 1-0 lead and went on to score four goals, holding to a 4-2 lead late into the last frame.
The Sabres went all for nothing, pulling their own goalie for the extra attacker and that’s when Nedeljkovic cashed in.
As he saw an opportunity for the open net, Nedeljkovic sent the puck its way and ended up scoring an epic goalie goal.
This is the 19th goalie goal in NHL history, playoffs included.
The goal is great and the celebration is even better. Watch it all below:
This incredible goal was Nedeljkovic’s second point of the night as he collected an assist Cody Glass’ tally earlier in the night.Â
Even more impressive is how Nedeljkovic becomes first goalie ever to have 1 goal and one assist in an NHL game:Â
What’s even more incredible? Nedeljkovic is the only goalie to score a goal in the NHL, AHL, and ECHL.
On top of that, he made 40 saves in the Penguins’ 5-2 win over Buffalo.
