Paul Bissonnette mocks “idiots” critical of Auston Matthews deal

Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, former NHL player turned analyst and well-known Toronto Maple Leafs fanboy Paul Bissonnette is absolutely geeking right now over his favorite team having re-signed forward Auston Matthews to a four year contract. 

We all remember his jubilant reaction to the Leafs actually winning a playoff series for the first time in nearly two decades live on air that also included some profanity mixed in, even leading to social media users asking TNT to drop him from their broadcasts. 

But if you think that Bissonnette has tempered expectations for the Leafs in 2024, you'd be wrong. Not only is he predicting Matthews to break the 50 goal mark several times over the course of his new deal, but is even predicting a few notable extra pieces of hardware.

"$13.3 million.....for you idiots online saying that's too much, he's going to average 50 goals a season over the next five years, he's probably going to take home two more MVP's, including a playoff MVP, because it's our year! The boys in blue are back! And all you haters hate it! You hate it!" 

"We got Reavo (Ryan Reaves), Domi and Bertuzzi to add the toughness. You guys are f**ked! Leafs forever!"
