On Thursday night, Sidney Crosby began his 18th season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and didn’t let anyone down.
Well, except maybe the Spittin Chiclets’ Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney… Both former NHL forward and defenseman played with Crosby during their respective careers, but attended the game against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday and watched from a fancy suite.
When interviewed by the team’s reporter, Bissonnette went at Sid during the game as a commercial break was taking place, calling him out for scoring against the Coyotes, a team Bissonnette played for in the past.
Then, Whitney took over the microphone and told Crosby he made him the player he was.
Crosby’s reaction is priceless. He doesn’t get why this audio is being blasted for the entire arena to hear and doesn’t know exactly what’s going on. He is caught on camera looking up at Bissonnette and Whitney wondering who the hell is taking shots at him during the Penguins’ season opener.
It’s all here and it's hilarious :
The boys made up after the game as Sid invited Bissonnette and Whitney back in the dressing room and took a picture to commemorate the moment. Gotta love it!
