Legendary Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron retired Tuesday after 19 seasons and held today a press conference to answer questions about his decision. Good thing all reporters thanked and congratulated Bergy for his long career, however, when he first announced his retirement, there was hate coming at the All-Star player.
Can you believe it???
Despite being recognized as one of the top defensive centers in the history of the game, Bergeron received some tough criticism from certain quarters. It especially came from felger & Mazz, two Boston radio hosts who are known to talk trash about all Boston sports and have never be kind in their critques of the Bruins’ captain. They have asserted in the past that Bergeron was overrated due to his two Cup losses and even questioned his status as the best offensive two-way player in the NHL.
Fans were outraged by the negative comments made, especially when it comes to a player like Bergeron who has dedicated his life to the sport.
Real fans of the game can appreciate the caliber of Bergeron and will miss him tremendously in the coming seasons.
