One Patrick Kane potential destination scratched off the list
It looks like this potential destination won't be happening.

One of the more intriguing storylines of this upcoming offseason is where future Hall of Fame forward Patrick Kane will sign. Right now, the most likely possibility according to the most recently released odds is that he'll choose to remain with the Detroit Red Wings; his agent Pat Brisson has met with Detroit GM Steve Yzerman this week about a potential extension.
As you remember, he elected to sign with Detroit in late November, and proved that he was still capable of playing at a high level by racking up 47 points in the 50 games he played in, helping the Red Wings to within a hair of a postseason streak that they'd ultimately just miss out on. Additionally, his surgically repaired hip held up well, putting to rest (at lest temporarily) any concern about his health.
And while there are several reported teams in the mix for Kane's services aside from Detroit, it looks as though a return to the Chicago Blackhawks won't take place. Despite his confirmed status as a Hawks franchise icon as an integral part of their three most recent Stanley Cup titles and a prime candidate to have his jersey No. 88 retired at the end of his playing days, general manager Kyle Davidson essentially put the kibosh on a reunion with Kane.
"He did have a really good year," Davidson said. "I think we’re all really happy to see that after having his hip procedure last offseason. That was great to see. I think we made some really tough decisions on some longstanding players. I don’t foresee us going back on that."
Fans, do you foresee Kane running it back with the Red Wings next season, or taking his talents elsewhere? Either way, it doesn't look like a return to the Blackhawks (at least, until he almost certainly decides to sign a one-day contract with the franchise when his playing days are done) is in the cards.
