Oilers reclaim player on waivers; two more land on there!

Two days after losing forward Raphael Lavoie to a waiver claim by the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday, the Edmonton Oilers are taking him back. Lavoie was the second-round pick in Ken Holland’s first Edmonton draft back in 2019.

As the Golden Knights placed him back on the wire on Tuesday in an attempt to assign him to AHL Henderson, the Oilers reclaimed him.

On Sunday, Edmonton rolled the dice when they waived Lavoie and he ended up in Sin City. Not for long though as this is a reunion for the Oilers and the 24-year-old forward, who made his NHL debut last season. In seven games, he posted a -2 rating with four shots on goal while averaging a paltry 7:17 per game.

Two players land on waivers today

The Montreal Canadiens first signed defenseman Gustav Lindström to a one-year, two-way contract and then placed him on waivers for the purpose of a loan to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

He played 46 games last season split between the Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks, putting up three goals with 10 points. He also appeared in four games with the Rocket last season.

The Carolina Hurricanes also placed a player on the wire with forward Tyson Jost landed on waivers.

The 26-year old has a fairly extensive NHL track record, spanning 456 games in which he has tallied 57 goals and 83 assists. He has played for the Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild and Buffalo Sabres and signed as a free agent in Carolina this summer.
