Things are starting to move in Edmonton…

This might not be the change the fanbase was hoping for in Edmonton, however, it starts with the Oilers placing forward Kyle Turris on waivers on Friday.

On top of that, the team has also placed forward Tim Soderlund on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination.

Turris exited the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols Thursday and was eligible to play versus the Florida Panthers, though he was not inserted in the lineup. Not sure he could have done anything to prevent the humiliating 6-0 loss the Oilers suffer at home as fans threw jerseys onto the ice.

Turris has mainly played in a fourth-line role this season, collecting just a goal and four points in 21 games. The chance of scenery from the Nashville Predators to the Oilers two years does not seem to have propel him back on tracks.

Maybe another move could be beneficial...

As for Tim Soderlund, he has yet to play a game in the NHL.
