Oilers fans melt down after video allegedly shows drunken Connor McDavid cheating on his longtime girlfriend

The offseason could not have gotten off to a worse start for Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

After getting soundly swept by the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final, McDavid and the Oilers have retired to Edmonton for the offseason where they'll presumably play some golf, take a vacation or two and just get away from the media spotlight for a bit. The problem with that, of course, is that it's quite difficult to get away from things when you're a superstar hockey player in a city like Edmonton. McDavid could walk down the street in any Canadian city and get mobbed almost instantly... there's simply no privacy for a guy like him in a hockey market. 

Case in point: the video of McDavid that surfaced this past weekend.

If you haven't yet seen it, McDavid, who appears to be quite inebriated, is walking hand in hand with a woman who is pretty clearly not his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kyle. 

Here's the clip:

I won't pretend to know what's happening here in this clip or what the relationship is with McDavid and this young woman but... well... it's not a good look for the Oilers' captain.

As you might expect Oilers fans are having a bit of a meltdown on all this on social media today. Some fans are defending him, some fans are vilifying him, while others are doing forensic investigations to get to the bottom of things.
