NHL reporter claims he has evidence that the league is rigged in favor of the Leafs

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the hottest take of all Hot Takes: The NHL is rigged in favor of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

That's the theory according to Buffalo Sabres reporter Mike Harrington.

First off... the Leafs haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1967 or a playoff round since 2004, so I'm not sure how good a job the Leafs or the NHL are doing at rigging things. If the NHL and the Leafs actually were conspiring together to rig the league in Toronto's favor then I think everyone would fail a pretty basic performance review. Despite having some of the best talent in the league and a payroll that is within a fraction of a penny to the league's limit, the Leafs continually stub their toe in the first round of the playoffs year after year.

I think we can definitively call this conspiracy theory what it really is: Fake News.
