More disturbing details about Johnny Gaudreau's killer come to light.

New and disturbing details about the man that was allegedly drunk behind the wheel of the vehicle that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.

Unfortunately the details emerging surrounding the tragic death of Johnny Gaudreau are largely serving to make an already tragic situation seem all the more unbelievable.

Earlier today I brought you a report regarding some disturbing details in the past of one Sean M. Higgins, the man alleged to have been drunk behind the wheel of the vehicle that killed the National Hockey League star as well as his brother Matthew Gaudreau. In that report I covered how Higgins had previously been arrested for Driving While Intoxicated many years earlier, but had been allowed to walk scott-free after the officer involved in the case failed to show up to court.

It was of course incredibly frustrating to learn that an alleged drunk driver who had not been punished for doing so in the past was allowed to get behind the wheel of another vehicle, leading to the deaths of two beautiful young men.

Now another detail has emerged about the life of Sean Higgins and unfortunately it is no less infuriating than the first. It was announced on Saturday, via a Facebook post, that Higgins had been placed on leave by his employer, Gaudenzia Inc. In a somewhat unbelievable twist of fate, Gaudenzia is a drug and rehabilitation center that is meant to help people who have addiction issues and Higgins was employed there despite previously having been arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and despite appearing to still have a problem with alcohol.

Higgins himself was meant to be helping people with drug and alcohol abuse issues.

The statement issued by Gaudenzia Inc reads as follows:

We received the heartbreaking news regarding the tragic crash that took the lives of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, along with the charges brought against Sean Higgins. Mr. Higgins, an employee of Gaudenzia, was immediately placed on leave. We extend our sympathies to the Gaudreau family during this incredibly difficult time

Hopefully this is just the first of many consequences that Higgins will have to face as a result of his reckless actions, actions that resulted in the loss of two young lives.
