Michael Bunting involved in car accident outside PPG Paints Arena.
Penguins forward Michael Bunting has been involved in a car accident just outside the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will have to play without forward Michael Bunting in the lineup after Bunting was involved in a car accident on Sunday.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan would confirm the news, revealing that bunting was indeed involved in an accident and adding that it had taken place just outside the home of the Penguins, PPG Paints Arena. The good news here is that there do not appear to be any serious injuries for those involved in the accident, with Mike Sullivan indicating that everyone is okay.
In spite of Bunting apparently being unhurt, Sullivan did also confirm that Bunting will not play in today's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bunting has been a significant offensive contributor for the Penguins this season with 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points over his 43 games on the season so far and it is a very unfortunate occurrence for the Penguins to lose him to an accident of this nature on gameday.
No word yet on if this could hinder Bunting when it comes to any future games but obviously the priority right now is going to be making sure that Bunting and everyone involved in the incident are going to be alright moving forward.
