Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins snaps after being poked down low by defenseman MacKenzie Weegar.

There are certain buttons you simply don't push on a man and on Friday evening, Calgary Flames defenseman MacKenzie Weegar got a refresher when it comes to that particular lesson.

Weegar was left fleeing from harm on Friday after he perhaps went a little too far when it comes to trying to create a scoring chance for his team during a game between the Flames and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The incident occurred in the early moments of the game's third period while the Flames were down 3-1 to the Blue Jackets, leaving Weegar and his teammates in desperation mode in terms of trying to even up the score. The Flames would apply considerable pressure in the offensive zone which resulted in Merzlikins being sprawled out on his back with a loose puck still in the crease.

Unfortunately for both Merzlikins and Weegar, the puck would make its way between Merzlikins' legs, putting it rather close to a very sensitive part of the male anatomy. Weegar decided that the chance to score was more important than any future attempts at making babies from Merzlikins and tried to poke the puck through and into the net regardless of the potential dangers.

As you might have guessed by the title of this article, this caused the Blue Jackets netminder to go ball-istic and he jumped up and did his best to attack Weegar following the poke to the groin area. Weegar quickly moved away from the infuriated goaltender before any real damage could be done, allowing the National Hockey League officials on the ice to quickly step in and seperate the two men.
