Matthew Tkachuk goes after Nico Hischier and attempts to attack him from behind!
The Panthers’ forward gets his fair share of shots…

Things heated up for the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night after they failed to rack up a win against the New Jersey Devils.
The result got the players frustrated and led to Matthew Tkachuk pushing the boundaries once again. After the Devils put in the insurance goal towards the 4-2 win over Florida, Tkachuk was part of the on-ice scrum and saw an opportunity to go after young forward Nico Hischier.
The officials immediately broke then apart as Tkachuk skated towards Hischier as the Devils’ forward has turned his back and barely saw him charge again. Once Hischier had turned away from Tkachuk, the Panthers’ forward had gone back to him to engage in a fight, but the officials saw through his antics and felt that Hischier was in an unsafe spot to respond tp Tkachuk.
On Saturday when the Panthers faced the Devils as well, tempers flared as well and this could be Tkachuk’s way to stand up for teammate Aleksander Barkov, who was injured by Hischier during a face-off with three seconds left in the first period. Barkov was helped to the locker room after being hit in the left knee by the stick of the Devils’ star forward.
This could have been an attempt at payback…
Florida needs to get back on track as its playoff hopes are now at risk midway through the season. Tkachuk needs to stop looking for trouble and focus on points and goals.
